Detail of design
Hand of God mosiac tabletop
Ceramic tile, wrought iron
20" x 20" x 22"
appr. wt., 30 lbs.
The table base is made of wrought iron painted black. The tile border is a black and white Greek key pattern. The hand is done in a mottled black on white tile, with the surrounding broken tile in black. The edges of the tile pieces have been filed smooth and a sealant has been applied to the gray grout.
The symbol known as the Hand of God or the Hand of Fatima has its roots in the Near East in both the Jewish and Arabic cultures. It symbolizes healing and blessing, strength and protection, as well as the proclamation of one's faith.
The table can be used outdoors or inside in an informal living area. It can be used to create a sacred space or altar in any area of your home or garden where you want a spiritual focus.
